Toolset - Scorecards and Dashboards

Would you drive a car with out a dashboard? A car's dashboard provides vital information such as speed, fuel level, engine temperature and mileage. This information helps you make decisions during your drive. It is also important to measure the correct information. Measuring Miles Per Gallon for a gas powered vehicle is relevant, but not for an electric one.

In the same manner your organization's dashboard is extremely vital. It helps you recognize potential issues before they occur, make strategic decisions, and know your organization's health at any point in time. An organization's dashboard is based on the quantifiable key metrics that are important to the company. For example, many manufacturing companies use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Inventory Turnover, Days of Inventory on Hand and Average Per Unit Manufacturing Costs. However, many companies use standard metrics without taking into account the requirements of their own organization. Measurement for measurements sake alone is a waste of time and resources.

Many companies make their strategic decisions based solely on historical data. But would your rearview mirror help if your car broke down? We understand that performance is defined by how it is measured.
