E. F. "Tad" Boyd IV, CISSP

Mr. Boyd joined MLC and Associates with a diverse work background in a variety of industries. Principally, and most immediately prior to joining the company, Mr. Boyd was the licensed owner-operator of Clarium Investigations, based in Glendale, California. Mr. Boyd remains a Licensed California State Private Investigator and is also certified as a CISSP by the ISC2.

In addition to Mr. Boyd’s experience in security, he has been exposed to a variety of risk management, risk mitigation, and emergency preparedness situations. These experiences, coupled with his investigative background and education, have uniquely prepared him for many of the issues faced in the field of business continuity planning. While with MLC he has been a key member of the BIA team for several companies. These industries include, Gaming and Resorts, manufacturing and financial.

Mr. Boyd graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelors degree in Anthropology, and an academic minor in Psychology. In the course of his education, Mr. Boyd emphasized the study of conflict, as well as the rituals that precede and underlay it. This research culminated in a study Mr. Boyd performed (of a subcultural group that has branches throughout the United States) regarding the nature and utility of structured and unstructured conflict resolution on organizational dynamics.

While engaged in his degree work, Mr. Boyd worked as a member of a company that provided security services and crowd management functions to a variety of businesses in the Los Angeles area. During this time, he was able to observe, first hand, a variety of conflict resolution styles and rituals. As a result of this experience, Mr. Boyd became highly familiar with physical security, workplace violence mitigation, and crowd dynamics.

After completing his studies, Mr. Boyd joined the staff of a 60 year old investigations company in the Los Angeles area. Although he began as a Field Investigator, his analytical skills were soon put to use as the assistant supervisor for the Special Investigations Unit, a unit he would later run for the company. This unit handled cases that were outside the scope of the day-to-day. These extraordinary cases included business intelligence related investigations, specialized financial investigations, criminal cases, divorce and child custody affairs, child welfare affairs, international investigations, employment inquiries, and employment disputes.

Throughout his educational and professional careers, Mr. Boyd has maintained involvement in a number of nonprofit companies, in wide variety of capacities. Mr. Boyd is an Eagle Scout, as well as an experienced Rock Climber and outdoorsman.
